Hiro has received $1,204 from 13 fans this season.
Hiro climbs lead and boulder on the IFSC World Cup circuit, with eight finals across the last two seasons and two podiums. He started climbing at 11 in a small gym in Setagaya, won the JMSCA national title at 17, and joined the senior World Cup tour the year after. Last off-season he disappeared into the limestone caves of Yangshuo and Margalef and came back with a flash of a 5.15a — the first by a Japanese climber. The video circulated for weeks. He says the cave work is what finally unlocked his power-endurance ceiling on the comp wall. Goals for the season: a podium at Innsbruck, a top-8 at World Championships, and qualification for the LA 2028 Olympic Games. Off the wall, Hiro is one of the few Japanese pro climbers with a real public following, and he uses Zaps to fund the travel, route-reading coach, and chalk-bag-grade tea he insists on bringing to every comp.
