Lena has received $560 from 3 fans this season.
Lena swims distance freestyle — 800m and 1500m — and has trained the last eighteen months in Brisbane on a junior development scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sport. She moved at 17 after her age-group times put her on the cusp of senior international finals, and her family followed within the year. Personal bests of 8:23.41 (800m) and 16:01.89 (1500m) — both within touching distance of senior world final times. She was named Olympic alternate at 18, and while she didn't race in Paris, the experience of camp life and the pre-race protocol is the kind of education that doesn't show up on the splits but absolutely shows up in the racing. 2027 World Championships in Singapore is the focused-on target. Long-term: LA 2028. Zaps fund altitude camps, race-suit replacements (~$700 a piece, they last 4-6 races), and the things a development scholarship doesn't quite cover.
